Black Pearl offers our friends only items we take pride in. Our organic, non-GMO plants and seeds are grown and harvested without harmful chemicals, while our plant bags were designed and created on the beautiful island of St Thomas.

Tropical Milkweed

• This tall (2'-3’), fast-growing, milkweed is also known as Scarlet Milkweed, Mexican Milkweed, Bloodflower, and Silkweed.
• The flower’s nectar attracts the Green Throated Carib Hummingbird, Puerto Rican Monarch, Gulf Fritillary, Snowberry Clearwing Moth, bees and other pollinating insects.
• It is also the larval hosting plant for the Puerto Rican Monarch.
• Each plant will sent up multiple stocks and live for approx. 6 to 8 months depending on growing location and weather. They do not spread via root but reseed themselves and will spread as far as you let them.
• Their Natural Catastrophic Event Importance is very high. After hurricane Irma the existing plants regenerated quickly with new plants emerging a little over a week later.

Cleome Seeds

• This tall (3-5’), fast-growing, heat-tolerant Cleome adds vertical interest and delicate airiness to garden borders. With dramatic huge, loose balls (5-6” across) of sweetly fragrant, mostly white flowers, it has fascinating long stamens that give them a spider-like look. It self-seeds, making this annual flower seem to be a perennial. Deer resistant, the flower’s nectar attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects.
